News

IT is open.

Stage two of the Tour de Otree has been canceled.

Prep for stage three is under way none the less.

Fast lane

Sometimes you win.

And sometimes you rip up half your face and get a ride in an ambulance.

Either way it makes you smile. At least with the half of your face that will move.

Prologue

That is right, the Tour de Otree is not in order, but it is a grand tour so it needs to have a prologue.

It is the elevation profile, and the gravel, more than the distance that makes this ride so dialed.

Clouds over Boulder all morning, rode up into them pretty quickly.

The whole world up there was frosted in.... frost.

This looks a little different than in August.

Hearts, Stars, and frost flakes.

When I made it to the Gold Hill general store the front spokes were all frosted, not sure it is as cool in the picture as it was to my frozen brain

If things go right I may eat more of the gold hill general store chicken pot pie than anyone, man that stuff is good.

Stage 1

Well, I survived stage one of the Tour de Otree. And after 3 or 4 days I can even sort of think again, as well as normal anyway. Big thanks to Psmurf for use of the Bloody 1x1, nothing like the use of a bike and lock, dried blood included...

Hwood and crew put on a great show in Billy's park. EZ and James put on a T Brown style show on the ss cx bikes. I learned that superfans like to drink Patron more than racers. There are some pictures from the weekend, but Thorny has the best one up so that is that.

The lifts will be on here soon, even though the weather has been warm and there is not much snow....

These guys are in The Republic right now doing what they do. I haven't seen them, but I did see one of their sweet sprinter van's. Wonder if they need a Huey approved driver to rally one of those??

Stage 2 of my tour is still up in the air, it will happen, just not sure how or when.

Enough links, time to go ride.

Sunday Ride

Headed west up some gravel roads... again.

After several hours the Spot got leaned here for a bit.

While I went in to the sweet old train car coffee shop in Ned.

This is a little look back with Ned below and Indian Peaks above.

I think it all fit within the meaning of 'perfection'.

Gold Hill - More dogs than people??

Did my little loop of gravel up to Gold Hill today, perfect day for it. Couldn't go past the Gold Hill general store without stopping in.

Only one plate of food today.

And this guy wanted to share more than I did.

These guys were on leases, but they thought the pie looked good too, although they were pretty happy just sniffing each others asses...

Saw a few more dogs that were too swift to catch a photo of...

The mtns have a good blanket of fresh snow, if you look at the background anyway.

There Will Be Snow

Maybe not in Boulder for a while, but up high it is on.

I left a nice sunny morning in Boulder, there was a dusting of snow in Ned, then a different world up at Eldora. 9am it was 12 degrees and blowing up at 10.5k and it stayed pretty close to that for the day.

Ride Home

Rolling home on Magnolia, Eldora back there in the distance.

See Spot roll.

Republic of Doom!

I love old mining junk at sunset.

Sunday

Another day
Another UCI cx race to superfan at...

Flea Circus out in South Boulder.

K E didn't win, but she looked fast!

J Pow putting the stomp down with his big right foot.

The national champ unleashed a great attack to bridge up to Trebon and blow past him in the last few laps, he won the race with guts and some crazy fast riding.

UCI cx Boulder Res

Did some low key superfan action on Saturday out at the Res.

A shot from the women's race. (nobody warming up during it this week, guess the real pros are pro!)

Wells, Trebon, Johnson, Powers and Baker was the show for the weekend.

T Brown put on a show of his own on his single speed.

Winston Wells was in the house, and I guess he was dressed as a ninja.

The Flatirons make a nice podium backdrop.

Gold Hill

I went for a little ride up and around on Friday. It made me hungry, like I need to eat everything right now hungry. Gold Hill general store has food, I got some and ate it up fast. Then I blasted down Sunshine Canyon back to The Republic.

And yeah, I think I used both forks...
